William Balfour, 27, the husband of Julia Hudson, Jennifer Hudson’s sister, was taken into custody in Chicago and will be charged with three counts of homicide. He has been detained at the Stateville Correction Center in Illinois on charges stemming from a nine-year-old parole violation. Initially, Balfour was only cited as a “person of interest” in the Hudson family murders.
The October 24 shootings of Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother were followed by a three-day search for seven-year-old Julian King, Hudson’s nephew and Balfour’s step-son. The boy’s body was found in an abandoned vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.
