Two-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams channels her inner model for a photoshoot for May’s W Magazine where she also graces the cover. It’s all part of the marketing blitz for Amy’s upcoming movie, the sequel to the blockbuster Night At The Museum starring Ben Stiller. So what was it like for the acclaimed actress to play legendary figure Amelia Airheart? Pretty fun, Amy says. She didn’t take the role that seriously since the comedic circumstances allowed her to show her fun side. A far cry from the upcoming serious biopic on the famed female pilot starring Hilary Swank in the title role coming out late this year. I do wonder which performance Amelia herself will approve of.
Even though Amy Adams is considered by “experts” to be the least probable to win the best supporting actress Oscar this year, she doesn’t seem bothered. This is only her second nomination and she is facing such stiff competition from co-star Viola Davis and Vicky Christina Barcelona’s Penelope Cruz. She’s pretty much booked for 2009, coming out with the surefire summer hit Night at the Museum 2 where she plays Amelia Airheart, and she’ll be reuniting with Doubt co-star Meryl Streep in the mother-daughter tale Julie & Julia. Plus, Confessions of a Shopaholic opens this weekend… oh, wait… that’s Isla Fisher.
