I love it when stars use their celebrity to fight for something important. While Eliza Dushku, Emmy Rossum and Sophia Bush may not be A-listers yet, they’re visible enough to make people notice the issues they’re fighting for. The cause-du-jour celebs are clamoring for is of course the repealing of Prop 8, the gay marriage ban. Since these women are in Hollywood which has a high precentage of gays and lesbians working in that industry, they’ve developed a lot of close friendships with them. I personally don’t see what the big deal is. Let people do what makes them happy and equal under the law. If it’s not hurting anybody, why should it matter? Okay, that’s probably the most political this blog is gonna get.
These are the text-free high resolution pics used in this Maxim Magazine issue that pretty much, and I believe this wholeheartedly, caused Eliza Dushku’s struggling TV show Dollhouse to get picked up for a second season. Yup, the troubled TV show is gonna be back in the fall for a new season, but it’s still up in the air whether it’ll get a full run. After all the promo-whoring and magazine pictorials Eliza had to go through to pimp the show, she deserves another season’s worth of paychecks. And here we are getting the just rewards of those efforts with these hot lingerie shots.
Is Dollhouse in danger of being canceled? The Eliza Dushku starrer’s ratings have been on a steady decline since debuting last month. Perhaps what’s missing is the trademark Joss Whedon wit that was so prevalent in his previous works Buffy and Firefly and even the web musical Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. He acknowledges this, saying that Dollhouse isn’t a funny series and that there’s no room for wit and catchy phrases in the universe of the show. I would have to agree. I’ve only seen one episode and know that the usual banter that populates his previous work has no place here. Still, if the downward trend on ratings continue, it’ll end up being cancelled before the season’s over in May.
You’ve seen the promo pics of Eliza Dushku’s uber-sexy appearance in Maxim Magazine, well now I give you the full layout, complete with articles and blurbs. Her new show Dollhouse debuted strongly with almost five million viewing it’s first episode. Looks like the show’s gonna be a hit, which is awesome news because that means we get to see more of hot Eliza!
Eliza Dushku believes in nepotism. The star of the upcoming, much delayed Joss Whedon series Dollhouse has finalized talks to produce a biopic on controversial and renowned photographer Robert Mapplethorpe where she’s just cast her brother Nate in the lead role. Frankly, I’m more excited about her new series, a kick-ass action thriller where Ms. Dushku assumes different personalities with each episode. She’s a hooker one week, then a scientist the next, all the while looking hot and sexy. She sorta does the same in this InStyle fashion spread. Check ‘em out.
