If you’ve ever wondered what happened to the little girl who starred opposite Macaulay Culkin in My Girl, well she’s still working. Yup, Anna Chlumsky showed up at the premiere of her new movie, the political comedy In The Loop which is getting some pretty decent reviews. She definitely looks all grown up and sexy, a far cry from the tomboyish teen I remember her as in 1995’s Gold Diggers. I’m still trying to wrap my head around how someone born in 1980 would be turning 29 this year. All child stars grow up, but it’s just wierd to think of them turning 30.
She was last seen singing on film alongside Paris Hilton and Sarah Brightman (yes, weird combination) in the critically-maligned and box-office dud Repo: The Genetic Opera, but Spy Kids alum Alexa Vega sure knows how to grow up. She’s shed her little girl image (not to mention a lot of baby fat – check out that tummy!) to become – or at least attempt to – a full-fleged young adult actress. And while she’s still at the age where she gets offered mainly teenage roles (cuz she’s only 20), she’s got a variety of projects that will expand her experience as an actress.
